Country Car Show draws crowds to Aldergrove school

A sold-out Country Car Show at Aldergrove Community Secondary School brought classic cars and car lovers together, with proceeds supporting youth in automotive trades.
A sold-out Country Car Show at Aldergrove Community Secondary School turned Sunday into a full-on celebration of classic cars and the people who love them.
Misryoum reports that the event drew hundreds of fans alongside 255 standout cars, filling the school grounds with everything from cool daily-driver style to rare finds brought in by local enthusiasts.
Among the attendees were Aldergrove residents Scott and Karan McCarthy, who arrived with three vehicles including a 1948 British Ford Anglia, a 1936 Ford five-window coupe, and what they described as their newest addition: a customized bright pink 1951 Mercury.
Scott said the car has personal meaning for their family, noting that “Mercury” is tied to both his wife’s father and their oldest son, and that the newest vehicle is especially exciting for his family.. He also reflected on how the hobby runs through generations, describing how his own interest grew from having a dad who was already into cars, and how his son and wife are now getting more involved.
Hosted by the Central Fraser Valley Vintage Car Club of Canada, the annual show also served as a fundraiser. Misryoum reports that partial proceeds are directed toward the youth in trades automotive program at ACSS, linking a community weekend with local opportunities.
By the end of the day, the atmosphere felt like more than just a display. For Misryoum, the timing also matters: after rain-dampened shows in past outings, organizers were relieved to see better weather, and that kind of shift can make a big difference for both participants and visitors.
The weekend also marked the beginning of a longer stretch of car show activity in the Langley area, with Misryoum noting that multiple events are set ahead of major dates later in the season.. The 27th annual Good Times Cruise-In is scheduled for Sept.. 12, followed by an ACSS-hosted Cruise-In Swap Meet on Sept.. 13.
In this context, the sold-out response suggests strong local demand for events that combine community energy, automotive culture, and hands-on support for young people building career skills.
