What a thriller in Oxford.
Lane Kiffin’s return to Vaught Hemingway Stadium didn’t go how he had hoped with No. 8 Ole Miss outlasting No. 7 LSU, 32-24.
In the first half, it was all Rebels.
Trinidad Chambliss went 21-of-27, throwing for 248 yards and two touchdowns, while the Ole Miss defensive line kept LSU signal caller Sam Leavitt under control.
At one point, the Rebels had 214 yards of offense, while the Tigers had 29.

Ole Miss led 24-7 at the half, looking to roll their former head coach until Kewan Lacy exited the game with shoulder pain in the third quarter.
LSU came out of the locker room hot, nabbing two touchdowns and a field goal to tie things up.
Ole Miss answered, though, scoring shortly after the Tigers’ star tight end Trey’Dez Green was helped to the sideline, struggling with an apparent lower-body injury.
The Rebels’ successful two-point conversion brought their lead to 32-24.
With one timeout, five minutes to go and 4th and 4, Kiffin went all in on his quarterback. Leavitt converted, giving the Tigers a second chance and a new set of downs.
A pass interference call on the Rebels put LSU in a first and goal position with just under two minutes to go — but it wasn’t enough.
On fourth down, with the ball game on the line, Leavitt’s pass was tipped, ending up in the hands of Ole Miss defender Jaylon Braxton.
