Retired NFL quarterback Chase Daniels finally addressed the fallout around his former “Scoop City” co-host Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel, offering measured comments on “The Jim Rome Show.” Russini departed “Scoop City” and The Athletic after photos surfaced.
Chase Daniels didn’t exactly lean into the details, but he did confirm the subject is still very much out in the open.
Asked during Thursday’s episode of “The Jim Rome Show” about Dianna Russini’s scandal involving Mike Vrabel. the retired NFL quarterback kept his comments tight.. “Look, that’s something that’s unfortunate in many different ways.. We haven’t really chatted about it.. We haven’t done any of that, so I’m going to leave that there.. That’s their business.”
The question landed amid a rapidly expanding storyline. Since the scandal broke, photos and videos have surfaced showing Russini and the married New England Patriots head coach looking “chummy” over the years, including during Vrabel’s tenure as Tennessee Titans head coach.
Russini, for her part, stepped away from multiple roles after the first batch of photos was published. She left her podcast, “Scoop City,” and also her job at The Athletic in April, following the release of those images.
On Rome’s show. Daniels framed the whole situation as a distraction that’s taken on a life of its own.. “I think the storyline’s turned into quite the assignment,” he said.. Then. in a final pass that bordered on reassurance. he added. “I’m sure she’ll land on her feet somewhere. and that’s all I’ll really say about that.”
