On Monday, the Chicago Bulls hosted their 2026-27 Media Day at the United Center. A major focus was undoubtedly what lies ahead for Caleb Wilson.
Naturally, new head of the front office Bryson Graham and new head coach Tiago Splitter were immediately asked for their take on the expectations that will follow Wilson all year.
Overall, Graham spoke of wanting to give Wilson enough flexibility to grow.
“Internally, we know it is a season of growth and development, and we’re going to get there,” Graham said to K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network. “We have to be OK with giving him grace throughout this year. He’s going to have some ups and downs. There’s going to be progress, and there’s going to be regression.”
Meanwhile, Splitter says he’s been impressed with what he’s seen in both the Summer League in Vegas in July and in closed-door practices.
“Every day he’s showing us why he’s the No.4 pick,” Splitter said. ” It’s really hard to put a floor or ceiling. We’re going to work with him. We’re going to help him to be the best player he can be.”

In June, Wilson was selected as the No.4 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Since then, he’s been a whirlwind as a popular face in Chicago sports. Furthermore, Wilson was named to the All-Summer League First Team. Altogether, he averaged 23.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game.
Next week, the Bulls begin the preseason on Oct. 7 against the Phoenix Suns. Then, they will begin the regular season on the road against the Toronto Raptors on Oct. 21.
