Bryce Young, Panthers Defeat Banged-Up Eagles 25-14 for Road Victory

The Carolina Panthers delivered a disciplined performance on both sides of the ball on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 25-14 to secure their second road win of the season.
Quarterback Bryce Young orchestrated the Carolina offense efficiently, completing 20 of 39 pass attempts for 281 yards and connecting with tight end Tommy Tremble for two touchdowns. Running back Chuba Hubbard spearheaded the ground game, grinding out 120 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries. Kicker Ryan Fitzgerald contributed significantly with two long-range field goals, helping the Panthers improve their record to 3-2 following an open week on the schedule.
For Philadelphia, the afternoon marked a fourth consecutive defeat, dropping the team to 2-4. The Eagles took the field severely shorthanded, playing without starting quarterback Jalen Hurts after he was diagnosed with a concerning blood clot in his leg during the preceding week. In his season debut and seventh career appearance, backup quarterback Tanner McKee stepped in to throw for 215 yards and one touchdown, though the offense struggled to sustain momentum, punting eight times and managing 17 first downs.
Carolina opened the scoring on its initial possession when Fitzgerald converted a 47-yard field goal. The Panthers’ defense quickly asserted dominance, holding Philadelphia to a net of minus-3 yards and forcing three punts across the game’s first quarter. The visitors extended their lead to 10-0 in the second quarter when Young found Tremble for a 12-yard touchdown pass.
The Eagles managed to respond before halftime. Dameon Pierce capped a drive with a 2-yard touchdown run with 2:42 remaining in the second quarter, narrowing the deficit to 10-7. By halftime, Carolina had outgained Philadelphia 178 yards to 110 yards.
The defensive struggle continued into the second half. Fitzgerald extended Carolina’s lead to 13-7 by kicking a 52-yard field goal on the opening possession of the third quarter, which proved to be the only scoring period of the frame.
The Panthers manufactured separation early in the fourth quarter, executing a 92-yard drive that culminated in Hubbard punching the ball across the goal line on a 1-yard touchdown run. Although a subsequent two-point conversion pass failed, Carolina held a 19-7 advantage.
Philadelphia fought back when McKee connected with wide receiver DeVonta Smith on a 19-yard touchdown pass with 10:42 remaining in regulation, cutting the margin to 19-14. However, a blocked Eagles punt shifted field position decisively in Carolina’s favor, giving the offense a short 48-yard field to work with. Young capitalized by targeting Tremble once more, floating a 19-yard touchdown pass with 6:34 left on the clock to seal the 25-14 final score.
The win moves the Panthers to 3-2 on the campaign, while the Eagles look to regroup ahead of their next matchup as they attempt to halt a four-game skid.
