Brooke Shields and Andi clash in You’re Killing Me

Brooke Shields and Amalia Williamson headline Acorn TV’s You’re Killing Me as novelist Allie and podcaster-writer Andi, a duo whose grudging teamwork fuels the season’s New England mysteries—starting May 18, 2026.
Brooke Shields and Amalia Williamson are about to bring a new kind of partnership to Acorn TV: one built on friction. not friendship.. In You’re Killing Me. Shields plays Allie. a bestselling author whose movie deal falls through right as the season begins. while Williamson takes on Andi—a 20-something podcaster and aspiring writer whose podcast made her famous. but also handed her the kind of reputation she doesn’t want.
The series pairs them up to investigate a small New England town where the mysteries—and the murders—keep piling up.. And if the premise sounds straightforward, the characters refuse to cooperate.. Shields and Williamson’s dynamic is a running engine of the show’s tension. with both women pushing back on each other as they try to work as a team.
At the You’re Killing Me red carpet premiere. Shields described what makes Allie and Andi click. even when they’re clearly at odds.. “Well. the butting of the heads was what made it really interesting because you’ve got two generations. very different. and they can learn from each other. ” Shields said.. “She makes fun of me. I make fun of her. and it’s in that that the dialogue starts. and it’s funny. you know what I mean?. It’s funny to look to not take those differences so seriously, but actually, learn from the other one.”
Williamson, for her part, framed the disagreement as part of a deeper dependence.. She told Hollywood Life that Andi and Allie “need each other to be successful in all areas of life. ” even if their chemistry doesn’t begin on smooth footing.. “I think she has a really hard time at first, just in terms of their generational differences,” Williamson said.. “Her mom left when she was so young. so I think. at first. she finds Ali’s character really. really annoying. but then realizes she’s kind of exactly what Andi needs in terms of her career. in terms of her romantic relationships. and then in terms of a motherly figure.”
The push-and-pull becomes especially important as the season heads into its first week of episodes.. Season 1 runs six installments, with Episode 1, “The Beginning,” landing May 18, 2026, followed by Episode 2, “The Wedding,” on May 25, 2026.. The schedule continues with Episode 3. “The Copycat. ” on June 1. 2026; Episode 4. “The Front Window. ” on June 8. 2026; Episode 5. “The Perfect Alibi. ” on June 15. 2026; and Episode 6. “The Road Trip. ” on June 22. 2026.
Even before the season premiere, there’s already a question hanging over the future of the show: whether Andi and Allie will get more time to spar and solve. Acorn TV has not announced a second season of You’re Killing Me yet, but there’s hope for “another chapter of Andi and Allie’s banter.”
The show’s core tension is built from a repeating setup: Allie arrives with an early-season career setback when her movie deal falls through. while Andi carries the burden of being famous for a podcast she wants to move past. and the two women’s ongoing arguments become the way the dialogue starts—so their need for each other only becomes clearer as their clashing first impressions shift into what Williamson describes as what Andi needs in her career. romantic life. and a motherly figure.
