Brooke Bailey is pushing back hard on the idea that she’s ever been against Dr.. Cheyenne Bryant.. The “Basketball Wives” personalities have reportedly had tension since they appeared together on season 11. and a new round of online discussion around Bryant’s credentials has put that history back in the spotlight.

In a statement circulated by theJasmineBRAND, Bailey referenced a Bryant event tied to the show where Bailey was “got kicked out.” Bailey also took aim at the way Bryant has presented her qualifications, reflecting on an argument fans have seen play out on-screen and online.

‘Basketball Wives’ viewers will likely point to season 11, when Bryant appeared in recurring moments with Bailey.. Episode 18 featured a heated confrontation that then carried over into several episodes.. During a Mexico girls’ trip. a mediation session led by Evelyn Lozada ended with the women taking personal jabs at each other.. At the reunion. Bailey called out Cheyenne’s licensure and accused her of being unethical for claiming to have treated a patient—allegedly without the qualifications to do so.

The credentials controversy heated up this week after Bryant twice defended her “doctor” title.. Her press runs have focused on her newly released book, while social media has fixated on her qualifications.. On ‘The Breakfast Club. ’ Bryant addressed the closure of Argosy University. where she allegedly earned her doctorate. and her inability to secure all her academic documentation.. She later said she’s experiencing “pretty punishment” and clarified that she didn’t intend to become famous.

Two days afterward, during an appearance on Fox5 DC, Bryant doubled down on her “doctor” title.. She spoke with journalist Marissa Mitchell and said her obedience is to God. not to individuals. meaning she won’t be proving herself to the public.. Bryant refused to provide proof of her “Dr.” qualifications and said she will continue to use the title. adding: “…I’ve earned the title. I have multiple degrees and I’m not going to prove anything to anybody and we’re going to leave it just as that. ” Cheyenne Bryant said.

Bailey’s statement arrived as the clip of their earlier “Basketball Wives” clash resurfaced amid the credentials conversation.. It’s unclear which exact platform Bailey used for the statement—there doesn’t appear to be a related post on her Instagram account as of Friday—but theJasmineBRAND says it was shared “on social media” on an unspecified day this week.

Bailey said she was “called a hater” when she tried to clock Bryant in the past. arguing that “credibility is not optional” in matters related to mental health.. She said Bryant claimed at her ‘Basketball Wives’ event that she helped a patient through “severe mental health episodes. ” which Bailey says requires “licensed. ethical professionals. not misrepresentation.” Bailey also pointed to Bryant’s claim that the young man was “her client as a therapist.”

“Accountability isn’t hate it’s necessary.. Since then. more has come to light. including that the school she attended has closed and lost accreditation (which I exposed at the reunion).. No dissertation.. No thesis.. No license.. The mental health community deserves honesty.. Not performance or gaslighting.. People are too vulnerable to be misled.. Degrees don’t equal qualifications.. Integrity and real experience do and when those are missing, people get hurt.”

Bailey added, “Everything done in the dark comes to light.” She also ended her statement with a message to “Dr. Bryant,” though she didn’t name her fully: “You tried to silence the truth. Instead, you amplified it.”

The back-and-forth is now being driven by a repeating sequence in public: Bryant’s repeated defenses of her “doctor” title—while refusing to provide proof to the public—has reignited scrutiny of earlier claims made on ‘Basketball Wives. ’ where Bailey previously challenged her licensure and accused her of unethical conduct in treating a patient.
