Blake Lively’s Settlement Faces Fresh Defamation Fight in Texas

Blake Lively’s legal win against Justin Baldoni this month hasn’t brought full peace—Justin’s PR consultant is trying to revive a defamation suit, while Jed Wallace presses an appeal to keep his Texas case alive.

Blake Lively may have just settled one of her most public legal battles, but the courtroom clock isn’t done ticking yet.

This month. the Gossip Girl alum reached a resolution with Justin Baldoni and is reportedly looking to move forward with a “fresh start” with her husband. Ryan Reynolds.. But the dispute isn’t fully over.. Lively is still pursuing legal fees and damages against Baldoni. and now her fight is widening again in a separate lane.

Jed Wallace is attempting to revive his defamation case against Blake. after a judge previously sided with Wallace on whether New York had the right court power to hear the claims.. Wallace had been named by Blake in a civil rights complaint filed in 2024. where she accused Justin of enlisting the Texas-based PR consultant and social media guru. through Wallace and his company Street Relations Inc.. to help orchestrate an online smear campaign during the It Ends With Us drama.

Wallace denied those allegations and asked the court to dismiss Blake’s lawsuit against him.. Last year. Judge Lewis Liman agreed—ruling that Wallace couldn’t be sued in New York because the state lacked jurisdiction over him.. The decision did not say Wallace had nothing to do with any alleged smear campaign.. It was a jurisdiction call.

Wallace’s legal troubles didn’t stop at New York. He also filed a defamation lawsuit against Blake in Texas, but that too was dismissed last year for a lack of jurisdiction. In that Texas case, the court ruled that Jed failed to prove the Texas court had the authority to handle the dispute.

Now, Wallace is pushing back.. In court documents filed and obtained by TMZ on Friday. he insists he has jurisdiction after Blake took “meaningful Texas-targeted actions.” His argument is that the allegations center on his conduct in Texas. and that Blake’s steps were enough to justify a Texas court reviewing the claims.. Wallace points to actions including hiring in-state lawyers and paying filing fees to the Texas court.

With that, Wallace is asking the court to reverse the dismissal and let his defamation lawsuit proceed in Texas.

At the moment, Blake hasn’t responded to Wallace’s appeal attempt. Whether the Texas case restarts—or gets shut down again—will be the next test for everyone still tied up in the fallout of the It Ends With Us-era dispute.
