Authorities said she died in a hospital from natural causes early Friday. after being moved from the California Institution for Women to an external medical facility earlier this month.. Broderick had been incarcerated since the late 1980s, when her story shocked a wide audience and dominated headlines.

In the years leading up to the crime. Broderick lived a prominent life in the San Diego area. married to attorney Daniel Broderick..
