The Cannes Film Festival has a way of turning personal moments into headlines, and this year is no exception. Dylan Sprouse and his wife, model Barbara Palvin, announced they are expecting their first child while attending the 79th Annual Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France.
The couple appeared together on the red carpet, where Palvin debuted her baby bump in a light blue satin dress. Sprouse, best known for his role in Disney’s “Suite Life on Deck,” wore a tuxedo beside her. In photos from the event, Palvin is seen holding her belly.
Palvin and Sprouse have been together for years. They met nearly nine years ago at a party, made their relationship public in 2018, and married in July 2023.
Earlier this year, Palvin also shared more about her health journey.. On Aug.. 17, 2025, she wrote on social media that she has endometriosis and underwent surgery for the condition.. In her post. she described months marked by fatigue. severe pain. heavy and irregular flow. and sleepless nights “on the bathroom floor. ” saying she had assumed it was just the way her body worked.. She added that she was later advised to see an endometriosis specialist to determine whether her symptoms were caused by the disease.
Palvin wrote that she had believed she would have known by then if she had endometriosis, but that general examinations cannot reliably diagnose it. She said that after visiting a specialist, three months later she had surgery.
In her Instagram message. she encouraged others who suspect they may have the condition to end the uncertainty and “find it out.” UCLA Health has described endometriosis as something that can only be definitively diagnosed through laparoscopy. a minimally invasive surgery in which a doctor looks into the abdomen with a camera through the belly button.
Palvin’s disclosure also came with a wider reminder about how common the condition can be. Endometriosis affects an estimated 20% to 40% of women with infertility, according to UCLA Health.
For Palvin and Sprouse, the pregnancy announcement at Cannes adds a new chapter to a relationship that has already spanned nearly a decade and a marriage that began in 2023.
