Authorities later said the fatal stabbing happened near the Ansley Golf Club, where the woman was fatally hurt. Investigators also said the same suspect attacked two people, and that he did so in what police described as a random attack.
Hours after officials asked the public for help locating the homicide suspect, officers spotted a man and a bike he had been riding. They found him on Peachtree Street near Pine Street, and police moved in—taking him into custody without incident, authorities announced.
Atlanta police Chief Darin Schierbaum publicly urged residents to assist in locating the suspect.. In the immediate aftermath. officials described the attack as involving a homicide and said detectives were searching for the person responsible.. They also appealed to the public for information as they worked to narrow in on where the suspect went after the stabbing.
