Why is “American Horror Story” season 13 airing three new episodes tonight? Who knows!

Bizarre release schedule aside, this latest batch of episodes will drop simultaneously on FX and Hulu on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 9 p.m. You can watch live as it airs on DIRECTV (free trial) or Fubo TV (free trial) or Sling TV.

The entire series is also available on Hulu, which you can bundle with HBO Max and Disney Plus!

Tonight, the three episodes that air will be called “Is That All There Is?,” “Date Night,” and “The Return of Devil’s Night.”

Because the season functions as a sort of multi-verse crossover event with all the previous installments of the anthology flowing together into one story, the plot can get pretty complex.

In the start of the season, Ben Soto (played by Joey Pollari) is a hospice worker with triskaidekaphobia, a terrible fear of the number 13. Of course, during a flight on the 13th day of the month, with 13 of his girlfriend’s friends, while he is sitting in the 13th row, his plane crashes and he is among the sole survivors.

His story, bizarrely, is one of the major connecting threads between the seasons.

After Oct. 1, two new episodes will release per week until the 13th episode, a grand season finale of sorts. This will drop on Oct. 29, just before Halloween.
