Amanda Batula admits regret over West Wilson romance

Amanda Batula begins to reckon with the fallout from revealing her secret romance with West Wilson in Summer House’s June 16 bonus episode. After Summer House season 10 aired and its tense three-part reunion concluded, Bravo announced the special extra episode, “The Aftermath,” chronicling Amanda and West’s separate one-on-one conversations with Lindsay Hubbard and Kyle Cooke, respectively, as well as a chat with Ciara Miller and Meija Moreno. Their separate meet-ups were all filmed after the then-unaired reunion was taped. Tuesday’s episode began with a

frank conversation between longtime costars, Amanda, 34, and Lindsay, 39. Lindsay kicked the convo off by stating she’d be speaking like an “older sister” to Amanda and planned to deliver some harsh truths. Amanda immediately explained that after she and Kyle, 43, announced their separation following four years of marriage in January, her newfound close friendship with costar West made her feel “fun” again. “Maybe I confused going out with West and falling in love with myself again, and like remembering who I am with

feelings,” Amanda told Lindsay, noting that spending time with West, 31, and his friends brought out a different version of herself. “This person that like wanted to have fun, wanted to go out — like loved life again, didn’t feel lost and alone and scared anymore. I felt such a euphoric feeling,” she tearfully said. “It was hard to think rationally or logically through any of that.” While Lindsay told Amanda her feelings were valid after a breakup, “It does not excuse going for the

one guy that has broken Ciara’s heart multiple times and got it back and broke it and got it back and broke it and got it back,” she said. Amanda responded, claiming that she didn’t pursue West — he pursued her. Lindsay argued that West was telling people the opposite. While Amanda assured that the relationship with West had not been physical, Lindsay bluntly asked, “Why didn’t you shut it down? Why not at that point say, ‘No, I’m not doing that to Ciara’? “

Amanda acquiesced to being “so selfish,” telling Lindsay, “I was so focused on my happiness and like feeling good for the first time. It overwhelmed me, this feeling of just, like, someone caring about me.” Amanda explained that West would tell her “all the right things” at a time when she felt “unlovable” and afraid she would be alone for the rest of her life. Lindsay pointed out that Amanda should “work on self-love and self-worth.” “You are getting self-worth from Kyle, or lack thereof,

and that ruined you. And now, you’re doing it with another guy, hoping that this guy is the reason you have self-love. You have to learn how to do that on your own,” Lindsay said, before claiming that West will “manipulate women wherever he goes to fall in love with him.” Amanda also told Lindsay she and West had spoken about their future before even deciding to pursue a relationship. Despite that, Amanda confessed, “I wake up with the most anxiety about how I’ve like

f—ed up my whole entire life, every single day.” “I just feel like really f—ing stupid,” Amanda said. Lindsay agreed with the characterization: “To be honest, you should feel stupid. The only way to save yourself in this moment is to separate yourself from the sinking ship that West Wilson is.” In his own chat, West directly responded to Kyle’s concerns about how his estranged wife will fare as the pair’s romance evolves. He noted that as more comes to light about West’s relationship with

his ex Meija, he worries about how Amanda will be perceived. Kyle fretted that Amanda may “look even crazier for ruining it all for a relationship that you guys are still figuring out.” Kyle also emphasized the importance of Amanda taking time to be single and focus on herself. While West agreed and said he had asked Amanda if she wanted to be single, he claimed she was the one who wanted to enter another relationship. With the new information, Kyle reiterated his fear that

West will ultimately break Amanda’s heart. “I want her to be happy,” Kyle said of his ex. West, for his part, admitted he has not become a “changed perfect person overnight.” However, he said he feels his relationship with Amanda is different because it grew out of a “steady” friendship. “There’s nothing performative about it,” he said. “No one is trying to prove anything, and I know who she is and she knows who I am.” West added that, although he has many regrets, he

won’t say he regrets having feelings for Amanda, claiming that he’s ready to commit and settle down. Kyle frankly asked West if he loves Amanda, and while West confirmed his feelings, his costar pressed further to ask if West is actually “in love.” West then clarified that his deeper feelings for Amanda began in February. “No, I haven’t gotten to the point where I’ve told her or myself that I’m in love or not,” West explained. “I do like love her and have. I have

cared about her for a very, very, very long time.” He then concluded the conversation by telling Kyle that he’d treat Amanda well. “This is such a weird feeling. I care about you. I care about Amanda,” Kyle replied. “It’s just such a weird feeling. To do all of this in the public eye is kinda crazy. It’s been an emotional couple of months that’s for sure.” Meija and Ciara’s chat, similarly, focused on apologies. Meija also revealed that following the reunion taping, she received
