Lexi Stephens, from Albany, secured a 4-chair turn on “The Voice.”
ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- Albany singer Lexi Stephens is speaking publicly after earning a four-chair turn on this season of NBC’s “The Voice.”
Stephens, who is from Albany, got the four-chair turn with her rendition of “Die on this hill” by Sienna Spiro. NewsChannel 13 spoke with her about joining Team Adam with coach Adam Levine.
Stephens grew up performing for her family and got interested in musical theater after singing “Part of Your World” in a local talent show at age 6. She later trained in acting, singing and dance, then attended Boston Conservatory while also starting to write her own songs.
“When Adam said I could win the voice. I think it was very double sided for me because on one side I was like, oh my gosh, I’m so honored. And then on the other side I was like, okay, now I cannot disappoint him,” said Stephens. “Like, I need, I need to get my act together. So it’s definitely, definitely pressure. But I’m really grateful that he sees that in me and sees my potential,” said Stephens.
Stephens is set to appear again in October for the next round of the competition, the Battle Round. NewsChannel 13 will air the second week of blind auditions at 8 p.m.
