Joseph Vijay, better known as Thalapathy Vijay, has been sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu following the victory of his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam-led alliance.. Soon after taking the oath, Vijay signed three major files, including 200 units of free electricity for domestic consumers, the establishment of a special women’s safety force with a helpline, and a statewide anti-drug mechanism.. of power and stressed that there would be only one power centre in the government.. He also claimed the previous government had left the state in financial difficulty and announced plans to release a white paper on Tamil Nadu’s finances.. Vijay described his victory as a debt of gratitude to the people of Tamil Nadu rather than just an election win.. He said he entered politics to repay the love and support people had shown
him over the years and promised transparent governance.. He also said his government would not misuse public funds or make false promises..
