Actor Kevin Bacon has taken his shipping frustrations public, appealing to his social media followers for help after a package containing his wardrobe went on an unexpected global odyssey.
Bacon, currently working on a project in Ireland, decided to pack light and ship a box of clothing from upstate New York to his filming location on September 26. Explaining the situation to his followers, the actor noted that the contents carried sentimental value, consisting of older items like boots, jeans, and hats that he has owned since the 1990s rather than newly purchased apparel.
Rather than making a direct transatlantic journey, the parcel embarked on a convoluted international route. According to tracking details shared by the actor, the package went straight to Memphis before heading to France. By September 28, it arrived in Germany, but the following day it was dispatched to Israel instead of Ireland.
The international ping-pong match continued over the following weeks. The package traveled from Israel back to France on October 3, only to be routed back to Israel the next day. On October 5, it moved to Germany before being sent back to Israel once more on October 6.
The shipment finally began heading back toward Europe mid-month. On October 10, the box made its way to France, and by October 11, it arrived in England. The package crossed into Ireland on October 11, but despite reaching the destination country, it has remained stuck for five days while delivery services report they are unable to complete the drop-off.
Bacon expressed frustration over the inability to reach a customer service representative to resolve the issue. While acknowledging that he could simply purchase new apparel, the actor emphasized his attachment to the specific garments, noting that the local weather is beginning to turn cold.
Representatives for the shipping company did not immediately respond to inquiries, but the firm has separately issued an apology for the mishap. Officials confirmed they are in direct contact with the actor’s team to arrange delivery of the package while reviewing how the routing errors occurred.
