A contract extension for Bryce Young remains very much a work in progress, and Panthers fans got a key clue from the team’s general manager about when the decision could happen.
Young, the Carolina Panthers’ No.. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, was once seen as potentially on a short leash after his first two seasons.. Panthers general manager Dan Morgan laid out where contract talks stand and emphasized that any future agreement depends on timing and continued internal evaluation.
Morgan said the team has already moved to pick up Young’s fifth year. and that contract discussions for a longer deal will continue internally.. He added that the Panthers would coordinate those talks with Bryce’s representatives. but “at the right time. ” and only if the team decides to do it.. Still. the “if we’re going to do it” language signals that not everyone inside the organization may be fully convinced about Young as the definitive franchise centerpiece..
