The 2027 Grammy Awards will air live Feb. 7, 2027 from Los Angeles on ABC, with nominations and voting deadlines set for late 2025 and 2026.
The countdown to music’s biggest night just got a firm date: the 69th annual Grammy Awards are slated to air live on Feb. 7, 2027, returning to the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the Recording Academy announced Tuesday during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York.
The 2027 ceremony will also mark a major broadcast shift.. The Grammys will move to ABC. following a new network deal announced in 2024 between ABC and the Recording Academy that runs for 10 years beginning next year.. That change ends the show’s long run on CBS, where the Grammys have been televised since 1973.
For viewers, the timing of the move places ABC at the center of multiple cultural and sports milestones in the same broadcast season. The network will next year also be home to three marquee American events: the Oscars, the Grammys, and the Super Bowl.
Behind the ceremony date, the Academy laid out a detailed nominations and eligibility schedule.. Nominations are expected to be announced Nov.. 16.. Eligible albums are those released between Aug.. 31, 2025, and Aug.. 28, 2026, setting the window for artists and labels preparing projects for Grammy consideration.
That eligibility period means several high-profile titles could be in the running. depending on their final qualification in category and submission rules.. Among the albums mentioned as potential competitors are Justin Bieber’s “Swag ll. ” Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl. ” Rosalía’s “Lux. ” Bruno Mars’ “The Romantic. ” and Harry Styles’ “Kiss All the Time.. Disco, Occasionally.”
The announced timeline also includes newer releases on deck. Olivia Rodrigo’s forthcoming third record, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” was noted as eligible under the Academy’s window, as long as it meets the release timing required for consideration.
Voting is scheduled in two stages. The first round will run Oct. 12 through Oct. 22, followed by the final round of voting from Dec. 10 through Jan. 7, leading into the February ceremony.
In comments accompanying the news, Recording Academy CEO and President Harvey Mason jr.. said the organization is focused on honoring music that “moves the world. ” calling the broadcast-home change and the move into what he described as a “new chapter” for the awards an exciting next phase.. He said the Academy is “just getting started” and suggested the best is still to come.
The shift from CBS to ABC could reshape the Grammys’ media footprint in a year when the network will already be juggling global entertainment at the Oscars and the national spectacle of the Super Bowl.. With the ceremony airing from the same Los Angeles arena as in prior years. the biggest change for many viewers may be less about the stage and more about how and when the show reaches audiences across a broader lineup of major annual events.
