13 New Songs Out Today to Listen To: Travis Scott, Soccer Mommy, and More – Our Culture
There’s so much music coming out all the time that it’s hard to keep track. On those days when the influx of new tracks is particularly overwhelming, we sift through the noise to bring you a curated list of the most interesting new releases (the best of which will be added to our Best New Songs playlist). What could Travis Scott, the Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Morgan Wallen, and Rauw Alejandro possibly have in common? Well, they’re all on the soundtrack to the latest (“highly anticipated” would be an understatement) installment of Grand Theft Auto VI, and their contributions are out today. The full tracklist of 34-track album has yet to be revealed, but this is certainly a diverse and intriguing range of singles. The Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso dance tune ‘Sexy Magic’ also has PinkPantheress, Fred again.., and Etienne de Crécy; Yung Lean’s ‘That’s It’ features Future and Metro Boomin; and Travis Scott’s roaring track is produced by Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. The other three teasers, if not quite as memorable, also fit the bill.
Soccer Mommy – ‘Rings of Saturn’
Ahead of her co-headlining tour with Snail Mail, Soccer Mommy has returned with a new song, ‘Rings of Saturn’, which was produced by Elliott Kozel. “This song is about feeling lost and looking for hope from anywhere,” Sophie Allison said of the gauzy, glistening track. “I wrote it during a difficult time when I would often take my telescope out into the yard to look at the moon or at planets. There’s something about feeling small that can kind of take the weight off.”
2charm – ‘making out’ [prod. Ninajirachi]
2charmare back with a clubby, euphoric new song, ‘making out’, which was produced by Ninajirachi. “It started as a dream about a crush,” the Australian duo’s lead songwriter 2 said, “but it found its way into song when Nina and I got in my home studio on 11/11 last year for a few hours of making music before the Addison Rae concert – like a gift from the star scum gods, ‘making out’ fell into our laps.”
Dummy – ‘April Limousine’ and ‘Alluvial Fan’
Dummy have shared a pair of tracks, ‘April Limousine’ and ‘Alluvial Fan’, from their forthcoming album, do you love the color of the sky?. “The first song, ‘April Limousine,’ serves as a literal introduction to the album and includes references to every other song, including the demos that didn’t make it on,” the band’s Emma Maatman explained. “It leaves you with the thesis statement and the question, ‘do you love the color of the sky?’ … among others. The video is supposed to show a dichotomy of the beauty of nature and the chaos of impending technological advancement, which leads us into the next song, ‘Alluvial Fan.’ In the video, Nathan is drawn by a mysterious force to the wires around him.”
Nathan O’Dell added: “The lyrics are a hybrid of two ideas. The first being based on imagery from a certain 2000’s anime where the goal of mass digital connection blurs the lines of our human reality and a sense of self. One can’t help but follow the humming wires further and further until they are completely lost in the ‘Wired’ web. The other idea is the phenomenon of Alluvial Fans. They’re sick… check them out. This song also features some silky smooth vocals from Allyson and Paul from New Issue.”
Julia Cumming – ‘Mom, I’m Going Back to Therapy’
Sunflower Bean’s Julia Cumming released her debut solo album, Julia, last year, and now she’s back with a country-leaning track, relatably titled ‘Mom, I’m Going Back to Therapy’. “I wrote these lyrics after being really inspired by a book of Dolly Parton lyrics,” she recalled. “I love how honest and approachable her lyrical style was, and how in classic country songs sadness and tongue-in-cheekness can exist together and make everything cut deeper.”
She added, “A big part of this song is realizing that you can be afraid of getting over your own sadness because you don’t know who you’ll be once you give it up. I used to be afraid that if I healed, there would be an emptiness left that was worse than the pain, because at least the pain was mine. Because this song was so influenced by classic country music, there was also something funny to me about treating ‘going back to therapy’ like this huge, dramatic choice, almost like taking a job in a coal mine. This song was my way of accepting some ugly truths and getting some power back from them by not taking it all so seriously.”
Mildred – ‘Bird Laugh’
Oakland’s Mildred have dropped a new single, ‘Bird Laugh’. Jack Schrott, who wrote the lyrics, said of the breezy alt-country tune: “Wrote this song after a tour on the west coast. I was thinking about a snow storm we got stuck in. I think the song is about resigning yourself to something. Some things you can’t fight, like snow falling. And sometimes the things you resign yourself to are the most beautiful things, like snow.”
Johanna Warren – ‘Islamorada’
Johanna Warren has unveiled a poignant new song titled ‘Islamorada’. “It feels weirdly radical to be an adult woman in 2026 simply saying I want you, I love you, I would take care of you, please let me try,” Warren explained. “In this time of mass disenchantment and dissociation, I think there’s power in owning your desire, and taking the risk of expressing it — which, yeah, puts you in a vulnerable position, because you might not get what you want, or you might get called cringe.”
