Uber expands beyond rides with travel and shopping tools

Uber is making a bold pitch: it wants to be more than the app you use to get a ride, and instead become the place you plan, book, and buy for your whole trip.

The hotel push is the clearest example.. Uber introduced in-app hotel booking. routing hotel search and checkout through Uber’s payments and bundling extra benefits for Uber One subscribers..
