Trump Urges Republican Vote in Final Midterm Push

President Donald Trump urged Americans on Monday to support Republican candidates in the upcoming midterm elections, issuing a sharp warning against giving power to what he characterized as an extreme slate of opposition nominees. Speaking from the National Mall in front of the Lincoln Memorial on November 2, 2026, the president made a final push to maintain GOP control of both the House and the Senate for the remainder of his second term.

Before turning to the electoral landscape, Trump highlighted ongoing efforts to beautify the nation’s capital, displaying before-and-after photographs of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. He then framed the upcoming vote as the most crucial midterm election of his lifetime, arguing that voters faced a stark choice between Republican governance and Democratic policies.

“The Democrat party has nominated the most extreme and dangerous slate of candidates in American history,” Trump told the gathering. He asserted that the opposition agenda included open borders, higher taxes, firearms restrictions, the abolition of oil and natural gas production, increased energy costs, and policies that would invite millions of migrants into the country.

Touting the accomplishments of his second term, the president argued that the nation’s 250-year history must be protected from individuals whose past efforts have faltered. He also referenced a published report regarding Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, alleging that the candidate had courted voters in mosques associated with controversial rhetoric about the United States.

Shifting to electoral integrity, Trump addressed controversy surrounding the Senate race in Alaska, where Democratic operatives and aides to Democratic candidate Mary Peltola were reported to have recruited a second candidate named Dan Sullivan to appear on the ballot. Peltola’s campaign previously denied involvement in the ballot maneuver, while the Justice Department launched an investigation into the circumstances of the secondary candidacy.

Trump followed his remarks with additional commentary on social media, alleging that attorneys had hidden the alternative candidate to coach him regarding potential fraud investigations. He called for legal accountability for those involved and urged Peltola’s resignation over the ballot dispute as voters prepared to cast their ballots on Tuesday.
