Spotify’s AI DJ expands to French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese

Misryoum reports Spotify’s AI DJ now speaks French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese, rolling out across more countries.

Spotify’s interactive AI DJ is getting louder in the places it can be heard, with new language support now rolling out to listeners.

Misryoum reports that Spotify’s AI DJ feature can now be used in French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese.. Until this update. the experience was limited to English and Spanish. with Misryoum noting that users can interact with the DJ to request songs and receive AI-powered spoken commentary.

To keep the experience feeling local, Spotify also assigns different names and personalities to each language version. Misryoum explains that the AI DJ lineup includes Maia, Ben, Alex, and Dani, each tuned to match the language setting.

This kind of expansion matters because audio experiences are deeply tied to how people relax, follow along, and trust what they hear. When a voice feels natural in your language, it tends to reduce friction and makes “chat with your music” feel less like a gimmick.

Beyond adding languages, Spotify is also expanding availability to more markets. Misryoum reports the AI DJ is now being rolled out in Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, and Switzerland, bringing the total to more than 75 countries.

The feature itself has evolved beyond simple commentary. Misryoum notes that earlier versions primarily focused on describing songs as they played, but the experience has steadily grown more interactive, including options to influence mood or genre and to request changes while listening.

Misryoum also highlights that Spotify has been moving the AI DJ toward a more conversational model. where users can prompt the AI DJ in a way that resembles modern chat-based assistants.. In addition. the app has been adding other AI-driven tools. including the ability to create custom playlists by describing what users want to hear.

At the end of the day, Misryoum sees this as part of a broader push to make streaming feel more responsive and personal. As AI becomes more language-ready and more widely available, the competitive line between “recommendations” and “interactive guidance” keeps blurring.
