Southwest expands Las Vegas routes to 4 new cities

Southwest Las – Misryoum reports Southwest will add four new Las Vegas routes from March 2027, plus broader schedule increases at LAS and MCO.
A wave of schedule changes is set to hit Las Vegas as Southwest announces new nonstop options from Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), with four routes slated to begin in March 2027.
Misryoum reports that Southwest will add or increase service on 26 routes from LAS.. While the overall figure is broad. only four routes are entirely new announcements for the airline out of Las Vegas: LAS to Boston Logan (BOS). LAS to Knoxville-area McGhee Tyson (TYS). LAS to Miami (MIA). and LAS to Philadelphia (PHL).. Service on these new city pairs is set to start in March 2027.
This matters for travelers because new nonstop routes can reduce connection time, improve fare competition, and make popular leisure and business itineraries easier to plan.
The update also extends beyond Nevada.. Misryoum notes Southwest is boosting options from Orlando International Airport (MCO) as well, with 23 routes impacted there.. The airline is positioning both Las Vegas and Orlando as key parts of its network. emphasizing that it already operates a high volume of flights in both markets.
In this context, the timing is especially notable as U.S.. airport competition continues to shift.. The changes come after Spirit’s collapse. which triggered ripple effects as other airlines move to capture demand and realign their schedules.. Misryoum says JetBlue is already expanding at Fort Lauderdale (FLL). while other carriers have also been signaling growth in different markets.
For travelers, these adjustments can be a mixed bag in the best way: more route choice is likely, but schedules and seasonal frequencies may evolve as airlines recalibrate.
Southwest also faces what’s next on its own roadmap.. Misryoum adds that this route announcement arrives shortly before the airline’s inaugural Alaska service launch later this month.. While details on the new Las Vegas tickets are not yet available. the carrier has indicated that planning for the upcoming additions is underway.
As the competitive picture reshapes across major U.S.. airports, Southwest’s expanded Las Vegas focus is a clear signal that demand in key leisure corridors remains a priority.. Misryoum will keep an eye on how soon travelers can book and how these routes settle into the broader winter and spring travel schedules.
