Smosh Expands Comedy Roster With Four New Cast Additions

Smosh cast – As Smosh evolves into a multimedia powerhouse, the comedy brand is officially integrating four new recurring performers into its main ensemble cast.

The landscape of YouTube comedy is shifting once again as Smosh, the juggernaut co-founded by Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox in 2005, announces the expansion of its core ensemble.

What began nearly two decades ago with a lip-synced “Pokémon Theme Music Video” has ballooned into a 45.4-million-subscriber multimedia entity. With a footprint that now encompasses a fleet of channels and 31 million social media followers. the company is moving beyond its two-man sketch roots. To support this growth. the production team has officially tapped Courtney Theophin. Eli Gonzalez. Emily Wirth. and Tatyana Guchi to join the cast full-time.

The four performers are familiar faces to the community, having appeared as “friends-of” across various series in recent months. Their integration follows the departure of Arasha Lalani. who joined the troupe in 2022 and has since moved on to independent projects. including her 7EQUIS-produced call-in show. *Fesspool*.

For CEO Alessandra Catanese, the decision to formalize these roles was driven by the existing rapport within the group. “Building the Smosh cast is something we approach with a lot of care because the chemistry among our performers is core to everything we create. ” Catanese said. “Their talent. rapport with our ensemble. and the response from our community quickly made it clear that they belonged at Smosh.”.

The newcomers bring a diverse array of experience to a roster already headlined by Padilla. Hecox. Shayne Topp. Courtney Miller. Damien Haas. Keith Leak Jr. Noah Grossman. and Olivia Sui. Theophin. a Haitian American multi-hyphenate. comes to the team with a background in absurdist comedy from the Upright Citizens Brigade and production experience at NPR. Gonzalez, a seasoned performer seen in NBC’s *St. Denis Medical* and Prime Video’s *Bosch: Legacy*, is also a veteran of UCB’s house teams. Wirth. a New York-based stand-up. brings experience from *Cracked Comedy Club* and is currently developing a series for *Funny or Die* titled *We Saw a Dragon*. Rounding out the group. Guchi—a musician and comedian—joins with accolades including a Laugh Factory Fresh Face nomination and credits as creative director for the improv group *Bernie Mac & Cheese*.

“Each brings a distinct background, comedic perspective, and energy that opens up new possibilities for what we can create together,” Padilla and Hecox said in a statement.

The timing of this expansion aligns with a busy fall schedule. Fans can expect to see the new cast integrated into upcoming content, including a new season of *Werewolf* debuting October 23. Additionally. the troupe’s live production. *We’re All Gonna Die*. is set to return to Los Angeles’ Dynasty Typewriter throughout November and December. with options for live-streaming and video-on-demand viewing. As the company continues to evolve its programming across its various channels—including Smosh. Smosh Games. Smosh Pit.
