Roblox’s Daily Users Dip as Age Checks Slow Growth

Roblox daily – Roblox says daily active users fell as age checks rollout slowed new sign-ups, even as revenue rose. More age-appropriate access is coming.

Roblox’s momentum is cooling, and the reason appears to be right at the center of its latest safety push: age checks.

In its most recent earnings update, Misryoum reports that Roblox’s daily active users declined to 132 million globally.. That’s down from 144 million at the end of last year and below the 152 million figure recorded in Q3.. While usage has softened. Roblox’s revenue still increased to $1.4 billion. highlighting a mixed picture for the platform’s short-term growth.

Misryoum also notes that the company pointed to “greater-than-expected headwinds” during the quarter, with age-check features slowing new user acquisition. The rollout also appears to have been impacted by external factors, including a ban in Russia that was in effect by December 2025.

This matters because it shows how safety and compliance moves can change user funnel behavior, even when a platform remains financially resilient.

Roblox says its age-check rollout is progressing unevenly by region and user segment.. By the end of Q1, 51% of global daily active users had been age-checked, while in the US that share reached 65%.. In the meantime. Misryoum reports that Roblox is expanding the way restrictions work by allowing age brackets to determine what types of games users can access.

The company is also preparing further adjustments aimed at “age-appropriate access” to content and product features over the next few quarters.. Roblox frames this as part of lowering expectations for topline growth in 2026. tying future performance to how effectively its platform balances safety with engagement.

On the business side, Misryoum reports that Roblox is leaning harder into experiences for users over 18.. The platform says it will increase the Developer Exchange rate by 42% for in-game spending from age-checked users older than 18. a move designed to better monetize that segment as restrictions take hold.

At the end of the day, these changes suggest Roblox is trying to turn policy into product, but the transition period can be visible in user numbers before it settles into a steadier pattern.
