Educational authorities have confirmed the suspension of a Prospect Primary School teacher amid a formal investigation into an internal incident.
(CNS): Officials from the Department of Education Services and the Ministry of Education said Friday that an incident involving a teacher and student at the Prospect Primary School earlier this week has led to the suspension of the government employee.. However, officials have not revealed any details of what happened.. According to a press release, the situation had been addressed at the school and was also reported to the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).. An investigation
is now underway.. The release said the “safety and well-being of students remains the top priority in all situations”, and that officials will work closely with all relevant parties to ensure the matter is addressed appropriately and with the best interests of those involved in mind.. While posts have been circulating on social media recently about inappropriate behaviour by teachers outside the school environment, this incident appears unrelated and relates to an incident at the
school.. It follows news that a student and a school bus driver were involved in a physical fight on the CIFEC campus in March.. That incident is also under investigation.
