Powerade Potcakeman Triathlon: Overall winners crowned in Nassau

Sienna Culmer-Mackey and Malcolm Menzies won the overall sprint titles at the Powerade Potcakeman Triathlon in Nassau, with Bahamian age-group champions also taking top spots at Jaws Beach.
Bahamas triathletes pushed through a busy weekend at Jaws Beach as the 2026 Powerade Potcakeman Triathlon played out across multiple age groups.
Sienna Culmer-Mackey was crowned the overall female sprint champion, finishing in 1:20:49.. Malcolm Menzies took the overall male sprint crown in 1:00:52, setting the pace early and holding it to the line.. The sprint event still offered its own drama: Kami Roach placed second in the women’s overall standings in 1:21:00, with Ilaria Gervasini third at 1:22:52.
On the men’s side, the results tightened quickly after Menzies.. Jorge Marcos, 41, finished second in 1:07:35, while Ayden Bain rounded out the top three in 1:07:59.. For spectators, the spread between the front group and the rest turned the race into a test of control as much as speed—especially given that a sprint distance can reward small gains over sustained effort.
Misryoum notes that the Potcakeman Triathlon has become a local measuring stick for athletes across age categories, and this year was no different.. The overall winners weren’t just posting fast times; they were also carrying momentum into a season where consistency matters as much as peak performance.
In the 20-29 women’s and men’s categories, the field was smaller, but competition still shaped the day. Jack Blaney was the lone male competitor in 20-29, completing his three-event outing in 1:18:23. Alexa Dean finished as the lone female in the same age group, wrapping up in 1:37:17.
For athletes working through their prime competitive years, age-group results often signal how training is tracking.. Frank Graffam topped the male 30-39 category in 1:12:23, with Quentin Chiarel second at 1:23:42 and Jason Albury, 38, third in 1:26:35.. In the women’s 30-39 division, Britt Christensen was the only competitor and still recorded a winning time of 1:25:56.
The 40-49 divisions brought more depth.. Marc Saulnier took first in the men’s category, stopping the clock at 1:14:18.. Jola Knowles won the women’s race, finishing in 1:24:45.. Thomas Brannan placed second in the men’s 40-49 in 1:33:04, with Matthieu Grenier third at 1:33:11.. Maude Beauchamp was second in the women’s 40-49 at 1:25:08, and Jessica Fuchs took third in 1:31:56.
Older age groups delivered standout performances as well.. Simone Bertoldo won the male 50-59 group in 1:08:13, while Sarah Farrington claimed first in the female 50-59 category in 1:36:52.. In the 60-69 bracket, Richard Ballance, 68, earned the win in 1:28:12, with Herman Cayaban, 62, finishing second in 1:48:40.
With overall sprint winners now crowned, attention in the Bahamas Triathlon calendar is already moving forward.. Misryoum understands the next major milestone for local athletes is coming quickly: the seventh national aquathlon and triathlon championships are scheduled for May 16–17 at Jaws Beach.. For competitors, that timing means the work won’t pause—recovery, adjustments, and sharper race planning will likely matter just as much as fitness.
And for the wider community, the weekend’s results show the breadth of participation the sport continues to build.. Whether athletes were chasing an overall title or simply posting a personal best within their category, the Potcakeman Triathlon once again turned Jaws Beach into a practical proving ground—one that sets the tone for what comes next.
