A lakeside party in Edmond, Oklahoma, turned into chaos when gunfire erupted during an event police say was not authorized.
According to Misryoum, the shooting broke out Sunday night at about 9 p.m. at Arcadia Lake, roughly 14 miles north of Oklahoma City. Police said the gathering had been advertised on social media and drew a large crowd of young adults.
In the hours that followed, the number of injured increased as more people came forward for treatment. Misryoum reports that investigators initially referenced 13 people hurt, then later updated the figure to at least 23 after additional victims were evaluated at emergency rooms.

Misryoum added that injuries ranged in severity, including gunshot wounds. No arrests were announced, and police said investigators are actively working the case while not releasing suspect information at this time.
Meanwhile, police described the event as an “unsanctioned” party that began after dark and was not a permitted or reserved gathering. Officers responded after multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired near Arcadia Lake and the nearby Scissortail Campground.
