NFL Network and NFL RedZone have disappeared from Comcast Xfinity as ESPN/Disney and Comcast disagree over a new carriage deal.
NFL Network has gone dark on Comcast’s Xfinity service, cutting off access for subscribers to both NFL Network and NFL RedZone.
The change follows a timeline in which ESPN assumed control of NFL Network on April 1. while the network later vanished from a major cable provider’s lineup on May 1.. Misryoum reports that the disruption is tied to a broader carriage dispute rather than any specific programming issue from NFL Network itself.
In this context. the disagreement centers on negotiations between ESPN/Disney and Comcast over whether the channels should continue to be carried and under what terms.. Disney said it proposed keeping NFL Network and RedZone available while talks continued, but Comcast ultimately removed the channels.. Comcast. meanwhile. said its contract to carry the networks had expired and that discussions with Disney/ESPN about future carriage are ongoing.
