Milwaukee Brewers’ 2015 ‘Timeless Ticket’ Promotion Sparks Fan Frustration Over World Series Seats

A promotional pitch made by the Milwaukee Brewers over a decade ago has turned into an administrative headache as the franchise reaches the World Series for the first time in more than four decades. In 2015, the team offered fans a “Timeless Ticket” for $1,000, promising lifelong admission to any future game. With the Brewers advancing to the Fall Classic, holders of that ticket attempted to cash in, only to encounter logistical hurdles and disappointment over seating assignments.

Rick Schlesinger, the Brewers’ president of business operations, acknowledged that several hundred fans expressed interest in redeeming their Timeless Tickets for the World Series. Schlesinger admitted that the organization erred in its internal communications regarding the fulfillment process. Although the team accommodated requests with seats, Schlesinger noted that feedback indicated dissatisfaction with the designated locations, prompting the front office to work toward a resolution.

Under the terms of the 2015 promotion, a Timeless Ticket holder was entitled to redeem the pass and become eligible to purchase up to three additional tickets at full retail price. Sales representatives heavily marketed the perk to prospective buyers by emphasizing priority access. Danny Fochesato of Milwaukee purchased his Timeless Ticket on his 27th birthday, recalling that sales staff assured him he would secure priority placement immediately behind season ticket holders for high-demand matchups like the World Series.

Fochesato previously navigated the redemption process in 2018 when the Brewers advanced to the National League Championship Series. At that time, he obtained four tickets in the 100 level behind home plate, which would have been valid had the team defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7 and advanced to the World Series. When the Brewers fell short that year, the tickets went unused, but the process left him confident in the system.

This year proved significantly different. Fochesato reported that redemption forms offered only 400-level or standing-room options without allowing ticket holders to select specific games beforehand. Instead, fans had to submit preferences and wait for allocations. Fochesato described the initial offering as unacceptable, noting that he observed superior seats available during subsequent public sales.

Through negotiation, Fochesato secured three 400-level seats for Game 2 against the Tampa Bay Rays and one lower-level seat in the right-field corner for Game 1. Despite the compromises, many supporters felt the seating assignments failed to honor the spirit of the original sales pitch, which had promised the best available seats subject to inventory at redemption.

In response to the backlash, the organization announced corrective measures. Schlesinger confirmed that any Timeless Ticket holder who applied for World Series access before the deadline will retain their assigned World Series seats while keeping their Timeless Ticket intact for future seasons. Team officials expressed regret over the miscommunication as the franchise hosts World Series games at American Family Field.
