Shreveport mass – Shreveport police say a suspected shooter died after a carjacking and chase that followed domestic-related shootings across multiple homes.
SHREVEPORT, La. — Eight children and teens were killed early Sunday in a mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, authorities said.
Police said the suspected shooter is also dead. In a press briefing, Shreveport Police Department spokesperson Chris Bordelon described the incident as “domestic in nature,” adding that investigators believe at least some of the victims were the “descendants” of the person responsible.
Authorities said 10 people were struck by gunfire across multiple residences. The police chief later indicated investigators will be working through evidence from every location to understand how the violence unfolded, including why shots were fired at more than one home early that morning.
