Lizzo flaunts 60lb weight loss in racy Gucci bikini

There’s a certain kind of summer momentum on social media right now—less “just posted” and more “okay, wow.” Lizzo seems to be feeding that energy with a new set of snaps that’s been doing the rounds quickly.
On Tuesday, the singer, 37, stripped down to a designer bikini to show off her incredible weight loss in sizzling new snaps. She shared the images on her Instagram, rocking a stylish monogrammed Gucci two-piece swimsuit. In one of the captions, she wrote: ‘Yall gettin the whole stomach out all summer,’ — and honestly, it’s the kind of line people either quote instantly or argue about for sport. The post is very mirror-and-luxury coded too: in one picture she posed in a floor-length mirror while standing on a fuzzy black rug in front of a luxury bathtub. The scene looks like the kind of quiet, expensive moment you can almost hear—like if you stand still long enough, you’d catch the faint sound of water running somewhere off-frame.
Fans showed up in the comments with praise that’s basically unanimous. “You worked hard let it all out,” one wrote. Another said, “You’ve worked so hard.” Someone else added, “I love that suit I need one.” And if you scroll for even a second, you can feel how closely people are following her ongoing transformation story—this isn’t a one-off flex so much as part of a longer public thread. Lizzo has been documenting her weight loss journey on social media, and last year in January she announced she had achieved her weight loss goal. She wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘I did it. Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal.’ She added, ‘I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!’
A key detail that comes up again and again is her language. During an episode of the On Purpose With Jay Shetty podcast, Lizzo explained how she uses the term ‘weight release’ instead of weight loss. She said, ‘I want to be very intentional with the words that come out of my mouth,’ and pointed to how younger viewers might be absorbing the message. ‘Because there’s young people who are watching me and they’re experiencing what I’m putting into the world and they’re applying to their own experience and their own life like I did when I was a kid.’ It’s not just the body-change content—she’s also trying to control the framing. Or at least, that’s what it reads like.
According to sources close to the star, she is believed to be 60lbs lighter. That claim is part of what’s making this latest Gucci moment land harder. She’s also kept things playful onstage, including recently twerking with a life-sized Labubu at the 2026 Coachella Music Festival. Over the weekend, she was brought out as a surprise guest during Sexxy Red’s set on Friday at the Sahara Tent and began twerking while joined by a pink Labubu. Lizzo also documented the weekend—capturing time during weekend one of Coachella and uploading a separate reel on Friday as she headed to Indio, California on a private jet.
But the weight-loss story isn’t presented as one-size-fits-all, and that’s where things get even more talked about. In regards to shedding pounds, Lizzo admitted, ‘I don’t really see it because if anyone who’s on a natural weight-loss journey knows, losing weight is actually the slowest thing in the world and you don’t really notice it until you notice it.’ She previously tried Ozempic and other GLP-1 medication to aid her journey but said she no
longer uses the drugs. ‘I’ve tried everything. It’s just the science, for me, calories in vs. calories out. Ozempic works because you eat less food,’ Lizzo said. ‘It makes you feel full. So, if you can just do that on your own and get mind-over-matter, it’s the same.’ She also described maintaining the change without Ozempic by focusing on exercise and eating like beef and chicken and fish—plus, crucially, leaning into whole foods. ‘And not
expanding my stomach by putting a lot of like fake things in there that wasn’t actually filling me up,’ she added.
Then there’s the sobriety update—because of course there is. Earlier this month, Lizzo revealed she was two months sober from alcohol. She reposted a clip to her Instagram stories featuring a ghoulish character and text: ‘When my [homegirls] think getting me drunk will be fun but I genuinely give off this vibe when drunk.’ At the bottom of the video, Lizzo wrote: ‘2 months no alcohol.’ The posts, the pauses, the captions—it all blends into this larger “I’m rewriting my rules” vibe. And with the way she’s pushing boundaries visually and verbally, people will probably keep watching, keep reacting, and maybe—depending on the day—keep debating what “healthy” and “confidence” are supposed to look like.
