Karen F. Lynde Passes Away at 88 in Greenfield

Karen Flo Lynde, 88, died peacefully at her home in Greenfield. She worked in retail and real estate, loved the outdoors, and is remembered for community ties.

Greenfield, MA – Karen Flo Lynde, 88, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.. She was the daughter of the late Dr.. Spencer C.. Flo and her mother Lilian (Landis) Flo.. Born on July 10, 1937, Karen was a nearly lifelong resident of Greenfield.. She was educated at Stoneleigh-Burnham School and Bay Path College.. Early in her career, she worked in the

business office at Wilson’s Department Store and later spent many years as a real estate secretary for Attorney Bob Carey until her retirement.. After retiring, Karen fulfilled a longtime dream by moving to Derby, Vermont, in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom, a place she dearly loved.. In 2014, she returned to Greenfield to be closer to family and lifelong friends.. Karen was honored to be crowned the 1961 Hi Neighbor Girl, by Narragansett Brewing, a distinction

she cherished and remembered fondly throughout her life.. She had a lifelong love of the outdoors, animals; especially horses.. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Elbert Lynde, her four-legged companion “Buddy” and survived by her siblings, Chris, Gretchen, and Tina.. She leaves behind her daughters, Alison Corriveau and her husband Rick of Warren, MA; Gretchen Emond and her husband Joe of Greenfield, MA; and Jennifer Greene and her partner Jason Boissel of Cranston, RI..

She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Brenda Erickson and her husband Matt of Bloomington, MN, and Denise Rau and her husband Ed of Avon, CT; and her grandchildren Randy, Jamie, Jacob, Christopher, Sam, Madeleine, Caitlyn and Katii, as well as by her great-grandchildren Charlotte, Lydia, and Jason.. Karen also leaves behind her dearest friend and confidant, Fran Supernaw.. (Founder of the “Tuesday Lunch Club”).. Services will be private.. Memorial donations in Karen’s memory may
