Hollywood Figures Rally Behind Democrats in Final Push for House Majority

As the 2026 midterm election cycle enters its final stretch, a prominent group of entertainment figures and public personalities is mobilizing to support Democratic candidates in a late push to flip the House of Representatives. Artists, filmmakers, and television personalities have taken to social media and digital campaign messaging to urge voters to back Democratic contenders and secure a legislative check on the executive branch.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has leaned heavily on high-profile supporters to energize the party’s base and drive fundraising in the campaign’s closing days. Among those participating is Oscar-winning actress and singer Barbra Streisand, who featured in a mass email distributed by the DCCC on Tuesday.
In the message to Democratic voters, Streisand emphasized her motivation for speaking out, stating that possessing a large platform carries a duty to address perceived injustices. She warned against unchecked executive power and argued that securing a Democratic majority in the House is essential for providing oversight.
The DCCC also circulated messaging attributed to actor Bradley Whitford, who warned supporters that the current political climate demands urgent action. Whitford appealed directly for political donations and votes, expressing concern over the prospect of continued Republican leadership in the lower chamber.
Democrats currently require a net gain of just three seats to seize control of the House of Representatives, making every competitive district critical as both parties make their closing arguments to the electorate. In addition to Streisand and Whitford, the Democratic campaign apparatus has utilized appeals from documentary filmmaker Ken Burns and television personality Bill Nye in various mailings and digital outreach efforts.
