Drua climb after Historic Drua win lifts them to 7th

Misryoum reports the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua climbed to seventh after beating the Highlanders 24-14, scoring four tries along the way.
A historic Drua win has the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua climbing the Super Rugby Pacific standings, landing them in seventh after their latest outing in Ba.
Misryoum reports the team beat the Highlanders 24-14 last Saturday, producing four tries in the process and turning the match into a statement performance. With 20 points now on the table, the result marks a key shift in their season momentum.
Isikeli Rabitu was among the standouts with a double, while Virimi Vakatawa and Elia Canakaivata also crossed for tries for the Drua. Misryoum notes it was also the first time the Fijian Drua have defeated the Highlanders since the franchise began in 2022.
That kind of milestone matters because it changes more than just the scoreline. It often reshapes how confidence builds from week to week, especially when a rivalry has previously swung the other way.
Elsewhere in the standings, the Hurricanes remain out front on 40 points after a 38-31 win over the Crusaders. The Blues moved into second place on 38 points thanks to a bonus point win over Moana Pasifika.
The Chiefs sit third with 36 points, while the Queensland Reds are fourth with 27. Misryoum reports the Highlanders slip to ninth after the loss, the Western Force drop into tenth, and Moana Pasifika stay at the bottom following their one-win season.
With the Drua set for a bye this week, the focus now turns to what comes next. Misryoum says they will host the NSW Waratahs at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on the 16th of this month.
Looking at the rest of the round, Misryoum reports the Crusaders will take on the Blues at 7.05pm Friday, the Reds meet the Chiefs at 9.35pm, and the Highlanders face the Waratahs at 4.35pm on Saturday.. Moana Pasifika are scheduled to play the Hurricanes at 7.05pm, with the Brumbies hosting the Force at 9.35pm.
For the Drua, the timing of that bye could be helpful as they prepare to carry their recent form forward. Misryoum says the next home game will be a good test of whether this climb in the standings is the start of a longer push.
