Hadjar Disqualified in Miami Qualifying, Starts Pit Lane

Hadjar disqualified – Misryoum reports Isack Hadjar was disqualified for a technical infringement and later penalised for parc fermé changes, starting from the pit lane at Miami.
A technical misstep has turned Isack Hadjar’s Miami Grand Prix weekend into a setback, with Misryoum noting his disqualification from qualifying before the penalty was tightened to a pit-lane start.
Hadjar, driving for Red Bull, had completed qualifying in ninth place, lining up behind teammate Max Verstappen.. The session had felt like progress for the team. especially after recent performance gains. but an inspection carried out after qualifying found an issue on his car that breached the rules.
Misryoum understands the stewards determined a small section of the floorboard protruded beyond the permitted reference volume by 2mm.. That technical infringement was enough to disqualify Hadjar from qualifying. though he was initially allowed to take his place at the back of the grid because his practice times were still considered acceptable.
Insight: In Formula 1, even tiny deviations can carry big consequences. A small measurement problem can quickly outweigh promising pace, reshaping the entire race plan before the lights even go out.
Later, an additional decision changed the picture again. The car was found to have had power unit-related elements and the control electronics unit altered under parc fermé conditions. With that second breach confirmed, Hadjar’s starting position was changed to the pit lane.
Red Bull accepted the penalty and indicated it would not appeal. Team leadership also acknowledged the error, with Misryoum describing how the team framed the situation as a mistake that must be examined to prevent a repeat.
Meanwhile, the Miami Grand Prix itself is set to start earlier than planned, at 1:00 p.m.. local time, according to Misryoum, due to heavy rain expected in the area on Sunday.. Kimi Antonelli is set to start from pole for Mercedes. setting the stage for a race that could be shaped as much by conditions as by speed.
Insight: When weather pressure and technical scrutiny collide, strategy becomes the real battleground. For Hadjar, the challenge is now simple to state but hard to execute: recover points from the pit lane while the rest of the field negotiates uncertainty.
