Why the Real Winners of Celebrity Traitors Are Its Breakout Stars
While Sebastian “Bash” Croft and Romesh Ranganathan ultimately claimed victory as the final faithfuls on the latest season of The Celebrity Traitors, industry analysts and media commentators suggest that the true winners of the reality competition are the breakout stars whose careers stand to receive the most substantial post-show momentum.
For Miranda Hart, the television appearance has marked a triumphant return to the public eye following a period of ill-health. Beyond a viral dance moment that captured online attention, Hart distinguished herself within a generally guarded cast by displaying genuine vulnerability and emotional depth. Her tearful reaction to the banishment of her friend Joe Lycett and her honest response upon being murdered resonated with viewers. Culture journalist Natalie Jamieson highlighted Hart’s openness as her defining trait, noting it made her the standout star of the series. Reports indicate that the BBC is exploring the possibility of reviving Hart’s self-titled sitcom following the renewed interest, though the network has declined to comment.

Other established names also managed to reintroduce themselves to audiences in unexpected ways. Romesh Ranganathan stepped away from his trademark deadpan, cynical stand-up persona to exhibit a genuine care for his fellow contestants, while Jerry Hall won over viewers with her eccentric charm. Meanwhile, comedian James Acaster generated widespread discussion and divided social media opinion after confessing to being a traitor on his own terms, displaying notable vulnerability while navigating the deception required by the game.
Among the contestants poised for the most significant professional leap, industry experts point to King Kenny. Going into the castle, the 29-year-old was primarily recognized by younger audiences as a member of the YouTube collective Beta Squad, remaining largely unfamiliar to mainstream television viewers. However, after being recruited as a traitor, Kenny injected fresh energy into the turret and advanced all the way to the final. Broadcaster Marina Hyde remarked on a podcast that Kenny has effectively been cemented as a mainstream star, with television reporter Siobhan Synnot suggesting potential future opportunities in panel shows, mainstream presenting roles, and other entertainment formats.

Fellow traitor Maya Jama also navigated the game to the end with a composed demeanor, though analysts view her gains differently. Already one of Britain’s most prominent television presenters, Jama’s time on the show allowed her to reveal more of her personal personality compared to her past work on dating formats like Love Island, potentially positioning her as a more versatile television star alongside reports of lucrative deal valuations. Irish comedian Joanne McNally similarly capitalized on her run, which lasted into the semi-final. Known previously for her podcasting work, McNally maintained an independent and witty voting record throughout the competition. Following her appearance, her stand-up tour has already been extended into 2027 to meet high public demand.
Other female contestants, including Sharon Rooney, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Myha’la, also drew attention for displaying wit and intelligence during complex social dynamics. At the same time, Croft—who won the game alongside Ranganathan—used the platform to introduce himself to a wider television audience beyond his previous acting credits in Game of Thrones and Heartstopper. With a debut EP scheduled for release later in November, the timing aligns with his newfound visibility as both an actor and a developing pop artist.

While early exits left contestants such as Amol Rajan, Julie Hesmondhalgh, and Hannah Fry with shorter screen time, and participants like James Blunt captured audience affection with military-inspired approaches and eccentric outfits, media observers emphasize that the ultimate measure of success on the series extends far beyond the prize fund. For the cast members who successfully captured public attention, the real reward lies in the lasting impact of their expanded visibility and future career opportunities.
