Brisbane fire: person rescued from 7th floor in Milton

Brisbane fire – A person was rescued from a seven-storey building in Brisbane’s inner west after a rooftop fire in Milton. Firefighters contained the blaze to the upper floors.

A person was pulled to safety from the seventh floor after a fire broke out in a seven-storey building in Brisbane’s inner west, triggering an urgent emergency response.

Misryoum reports that the incident unfolded in Milton, with emergency services called to Little Cribb Street in the Milton Green precinct, near Suncorp Stadium, after smoke was seen coming from the building’s roof.

Fire crews said the blaze was mostly contained to the top floor of the mixed commercial and residential building. Smoke could be seen from the upper levels as firefighters moved in to search for anyone who might be inside.

That search led to the discovery of a person on the seventh floor, where evacuation on foot was not considered safe. Concerns about the building’s structural integrity meant responders turned to aerial access to complete the rescue.

The person was brought down using a cherry-picker, with paramedics arriving shortly after firefighters were on scene. The injured person was treated at the site after being lowered from the rooftop area.

This kind of rescue highlights how quickly building conditions can change during a fire, turning an evacuation plan into a technical operation focused on safety.

Meanwhile. Milton Green management advised tenants in nearby buildings not to evacuate. stating that the fire alarm had been activated and fire brigade units were managing the incident.. Police were also on hand to support traffic control. including keeping vehicles away from the structure by closing part of Little Cribb Street.

Misryoum understands that the building had been under construction for about a year, with scaffolding still attached to its exterior. Although the fire was contained earlier, it had not been fully extinguished by early afternoon, keeping crews at the scene.

For residents and workers nearby, the message is clear: even when flames appear limited to one area, smoke and safety risks can persist long enough to require sustained emergency operations.
