Braves’ Michael Harris II Caps Late Comeback Win

Michael Harris II delivered a late two-run homer as Atlanta rallied past Colorado in a busy MLB roundup.

A two-run blast in the ninth turned the Braves’ comeback into something the Rockies couldn’t hold on to as Atlanta beat Colorado 8-6 on Friday night.

Michael Harris II capped the reversal with a go-ahead homer to right after Colorado had built a commanding advantage earlier in the game.. Atlanta’s charge was powered by Mauricio Dubon. who produced the biggest swing of the contest with a bases-loaded triple during a four-run eighth. while Matt Olson also contributed a home run to keep the chase alive.

The Braves were down 6-1 through six innings, but they kept manufacturing opportunities. They finally found traction with walks that loaded the bases in the seventh and eighth, before Dubon’s hit tied the score and Harris’ late homer completed the turnaround.

In context, Atlanta’s ability to flip the momentum late matters more than the final margin, especially in a game shaped by early innings that Colorado looked ready to control.

Meanwhile, Chicago’s Michael Busch posted two hits and drove in two runs as the Cubs downed Arizona. Colin Rea worked 5 1/3 innings and held the Diamondbacks at bay, while Nico Hoerner left with neck tightness after getting going offensively.

Elsewhere. the Diamondbacks saw Ildemaro Vargas extend his hitting streak to 27 games by going 4-for-4. but Arizona still fell for the seventh time in its last 10.. Detroit also saw action on a rainy night. with Danny Jansen homering and Josh Jung driving in two as Texas moved back to .500 with a win over the Tigers.

Tampa Bay’s Shane McClanahan anchored another strong performance for the Rays as Yandy Diaz and Junior Caminero hit homers to support six productive innings against San Francisco.. Boston. meanwhile. got a three-run homer from Jarren Duran and a major league debut win from Jake Bennett. who limited Houston damage despite Roman Anthony’s three-hit night for the Red Sox.

Finally. New York’s Will Warren earned his third straight win while the Yankees overcame a Pete Alonso home run in a matchup that highlighted their home success.. Back-to-back four-hit games also stood out elsewhere. as Milwaukee’s William Contreras continued to spark the Brewers’ offense with another standout showing.

This slate reinforced a recurring theme across MLB: when teams are patient enough to stay in the at-bats, the late inning can still completely redraw the storyline.
