Applebee’s-IHOP Dual-Branded Restaurant Coming to Wisconsin Rapids

Applebee’s IHOP – A dual-branded Applebee’s and IHOP is planned for Wisconsin Rapids and Plover, expanding a concept already launched in Marshfield.

A familiar restaurant address in Wisconsin Rapids is set to gain a new identity, with a dual-branded Applebee’s and IHOP concept slated to reopen the site.

The Siyavoush Soleimani Group. an Applebee’s and IHOP franchisee. confirmed plans for dual-branded locations in Wisconsin Rapids and Plover. following the opening of a similar concept in Marshfield.. The news comes as consumers continue to show strong interest in dining options that combine familiar menus and all-day favorites in one stop.

For Wisconsin Rapids, the spokesperson confirmed the restaurant will open at 4311 Eighth St.. S.. The site previously housed Applebee’s, which opened there in February 2005 and closed in April 2025.. The company has not yet provided an opening timeline. saying that schedules for when doors will open could not be confirmed.

The franchisee’s leadership framed the project as a way to bring together what each brand is known for.. Sam Soleimani. president and CEO of Siyavoush Soleimani Group. said the company is looking forward to expanding the dual-branded concept to additional cities across Wisconsin. including Wisconsin Rapids and Plover.

Soleimani described the idea as combining IHOP’s well-known pancakes and breakfast selections with Applebee’s offerings such as boneless wings and burgers.. In that pitch. the key promise for diners is access to both brands’ menus any time of day. under one roof.. The company also indicated it would share additional updates as they become available.

The Wisconsin Rapids project follows a broader rollout inside the state.. The dual-branded concept opened last September in Marshfield. after Dine Brands closed its Applebee’s there in July 2025 and crews redesigned the location to add the IHOP brand.. A separate dual-branded Applebee’s and IHOP restaurant also opened in October. showing that the approach is moving beyond a single test site.

Before the Marshfield dual-branded restaurant opened, a Dine Brands representative had said the concept originated from internal partners.. The report described an emerging question among franchise owners about whether they could operate multiple brands within the Dine Brands portfolio. and it suggested the company viewed the opportunity as a way to place two well-known brands together in a single location.

How the concept works for customers is built around choice and familiar branding. At the dual-branded restaurants, guests can sit in either an Applebee’s-branded area or an IHOP-branded area, but ordering is not restricted by seating—diners can choose anything from either brand’s menu.

The menus are designed to reduce confusion while preserving brand identity.. The menu is color-coded to indicate which dishes come from the Applebee’s menu and which come from the IHOP menu.. Beyond the combined selection. dual-branded locations also include items described as unique options that can only be found at these restaurants.

Inside, the renovation focuses on blending brand-specific design details without losing a sense of local identity. Each dual-branded renovation incorporates décor tied to each brand under one roof, while also being tailored to the community the location is serving.

Marshfield’s example illustrates that approach.. The report stated the Marshfield location used a city map in the entryway and included local photos and décor throughout the interior.. That kind of customization suggests the remodel is not just about combining two concepts. but also about making the space feel connected to the town where it will operate.

For now, residents in Wisconsin Rapids and Plover are waiting on timing.. While the address for the Wisconsin Rapids site has been confirmed and the franchise leadership says updates will follow. opening timelines were not provided—leaving the public to watch for announcements as renovation work and permitting progress.

For dining customers. the expansion signals a practical shift in how multi-brand food experiences are being packaged: rather than forcing people to choose between breakfast staples and classic bar-and-grill favorites on different trips. the dual-branded model aims to put both within reach during the same visit.

In the coming months. the question for locals will likely be how quickly the new Wisconsin Rapids location can move from a closed Applebee’s site to a fully operating Applebee’s and IHOP under one roof. and what the final layout will look like as the company’s concept evolves from Marshfield to additional Wisconsin communities.
