GeForce NOW Breach Hits Armenian Users, NVIDIA Confirms

NVIDIA confirms a GeForce NOW data breach impacted Armenia via a regional partner, and says affected users will be notified.
Streaming games depends on trust, and that trust just took a hit: NVIDIA says a GeForce NOW data breach exposed user information for users in Armenia.
In a statement shared with Misryoum. the company confirmed the incident affected systems run by a regional GeForce NOW partner in Armenia.. NVIDIA said its own network was not impacted. and that the issue came from a compromise of the partner-operated infrastructure rather than NVIDIA-operated services.
NVIDIA also indicated it is working with the partner on investigation and remediation, with impacted users expected to be notified through GFN.am. The company’s confirmation follows an earlier claim on a hacker forum that the service had been breached and that a large set of user data was taken.
The details described in that forum posting pointed to personal and account-related information, including names, email addresses, usernames, dates of birth, membership status, and information related to 2FA/TOTP status. The post also included sample data and offered a deal for a larger dataset.
On the operational side, Misryoum notes that GeForce NOW relies on a network of regional operators. For Armenia, GFN.am is the local operator responsible for running the service, including elements like authentication and customer data handling in the region.
An additional statement from GFN.am reported a cybersecurity incident between March 20 and March 26 and said exposed information could include full name (when using a Google account). email address. phone number (if registered through a mobile operator). date of birth. and username.. It also clarified that account passwords were not exposed, and that users who signed up after March 9 are not impacted.
Why this matters: even when a breach is limited to a specific region. it can still trigger broader security responses for users. especially where authentication and 2FA status are involved.. The practical takeaway is to stay alert to account activity and follow any notification guidance from the operator.
Misryoum also highlights that while NVIDIA said no impact was confirmed for other regions. the statement underscores how partner-operated environments can carry distinct risk boundaries.. At the end of the day. the priority for affected users is clarity: confirm what’s been exposed. review security settings. and act quickly if the operator recommends specific next steps.
