According to Misryoum, the USS Truxtun and USS Mason transited the strait after facing multiple coordinated threats, supported by air assets during the passage. Defense officials characterized the challenge as involving small boats, missiles, and drones, but said the U.S. ships were not hit.

Meanwhile, Misryoum noted that the broader confrontation has continued beyond sea lanes. Iran launched missiles and drones at the United Arab Emirates earlier Monday, according to Misryoum, and drones targeted an oil tanker connected to Abu Dhabi’s state energy company.
