WTA Beijing Predictions Including Naomi Osaka vs Karolina Muchova – Last Word On Tennis

Fourth-round action at the WTA Beijing, China Open continues with Naomi Osaka set to face Karolina Muchova for the third time this season. Who will reach the quarterfinals in Beijing?
WTA Beijing Predictions
Daria Snigur vs Mirra Andreeva
Head-to-head: first meeting
Daria Snigur is having an outstanding run in Beijing. She survived a couple of three-setters, including a victory over Jasmine Paolini. Then she dismantled Taylah Preston 6-1 6-0 to take her win-loss record for the season to 44-15. Snigur should attain a new career-high ranking in the Top 50 after the tournament. Mirra Andreeva’s straight-sets win over Polina Kudermetova was far from straightforward. The Russian trailed in the opening set, but raised her level to progress. I could see an upset materializing here. Snigur is playing with far more confidence now that she’s established herself in the Top 50. Andreeva has looked vulnerable at times in the opening two rounds, and Snigur’s expertise in shortening points could put pressure on the Russian’s service games.
Prediction: Snigur in 3
Linda Noskova vs Ekaterina Alexandrova
Head-to-head: Noskova 1-1 Alexandrova
Some players suffer a dip in intensity after winning a Grand Slam mid-season. But Noskova has shown no such slump at WTA Beijing, after winning the Wimbledon title. And right now, the Czech’s serve is a bedrock and probably the most reliable shot in women’s tennis. That should be the difference in the decisive moments in a big-hitting contest between these two players.
Prediction: Noskova in 2
Nikola Bartunkova vs Sinja Kraus
Head-to-head: Bartunkova 1-0 Kraus
Nikola Bartunkova stunned Aryna Sabalenka for her biggest career win in the last round at WTA Beijing. Sinja Kraus earned a high-quality win over Dayana Yastremska, and this could potentially be a breakthrough moment for the Austrian in a WTA 1000. Bartunkova’s ability to handle power is often overlooked because she’s been exceptional at redirecting pace, hardly giving Sabalenka a break point in the second set. The Czech should be the heavy favorite, especially after that incredible victory against the Belarusian.
Prediction: Bartunkova in 2
Naomi Osaka vs Karolina Muchova
Head-to-head: Muchova 4-3 Osaka
Naomi Osaka is looking to reach the last eight at WTA Beijing for the first time since winning the tournament in 2019. The Japanese star overcame Sara Bejlek in two tight sets to progress. She took her win tally to 30 for the season. Karolina Muchova, for her part, came from behind to beat in-form Liudmila Samsonova 4-6 6-4 6-2. Muchova has won both meetings against Osaka this season to take control of the head-to-head (although Bad Homburg was a retirement and Wimbledon was a close contest). Muchova’s variety presents a huge problem for Osaka, but the former World No. 1 has won three hard-court meetings against the Czech. I’ll lean toward Osaka. Her serve should give her a steady supply of free points, and if she maintains her composure, she can hit through the court with efficiency.
Prediction: Osaka in 3
