Too Short – Oakland rapper Too $hort has issued a formal apology after suggesting he would attend a Diddy ‘coming-home’ party, citing ignorance regarding the broader scope of abuse allegations.
The phone started ringing shortly after the podcast aired. and by Sunday. the weight of the backlash had reached the Bay Area rapper. Too $hort took to Instagram with a reel meant to walk back comments that had sparked immediate public outcry: an open declaration that he intended to attend a future party hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Only days earlier. during an appearance on The TMZ Podcast. the rapper had dismissed the gravity of the legal situation surrounding the embattled executive. When asked about the future of Combs’ career. he insisted he wasn’t “judgmental. ” and while he acknowledged the hotel footage involving Cassie. he suggested Combs should not be incarcerated. He also claimed he had never personally witnessed any sexual acts at the parties he attended.
That narrative shifted entirely over the weekend as the rapper faced the reality of the broader allegations. “I was a little insensitive with my words. ” he admitted in his apology. acknowledging that he had spoken without knowing the full extent of the case. He confessed to being unaware of the numerous women who have come forward with claims of physical. emotional. and sexual abuse. “I do not condone abuse in any kind of way,” he stated. “And I don’t support anybody that does it.”.
The contradiction between his initial stance and his later apology rests on his claim of limited information versus the public’s broader awareness of the case. By attempting to separate the “parties he throws for his friends” from the allegations involving “baby oil” or “sexual sh–. ” he sought to clarify his intent. He maintained that across the dozens of events he had attended. he never witnessed a naked person or a sexual act. closing his remarks by expressing a hope that Combs would find growth during his time in custody.
Combs remains in the spotlight as details continue to emerge regarding his life behind bars, where he is reportedly navigating the realities of incarceration with the assistance of specific inmates and prison staff.
