TikTok Duo Charged With Arson Following Charleston House Fire

Dakota Harper – Two social media figures face felony arson charges after surveillance footage allegedly linked them to a blaze that destroyed an abandoned home.
The blaze broke out late Sunday night. leaving the remains of an abandoned house in the 400 block of Maryland Avenue to smolder well into Monday morning. By 11:15 p.m. on Sunday. the fire was already drawing attention in Charleston’s West Side. though the structure had no active utilities to explain its sudden ignition.
Dakota Harper, 21, and Felicity Eatmon, 22, were arrested and arraigned on Tuesday, facing charges of first-degree arson and conspiracy to commit arson. The couple, known for sharing their daily lives with a large following on TikTok, now sit in custody on $10,000 bond each.
The sequence of events is laid out in a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. During the investigation, authorities secured surveillance footage from an adjacent alleyway. In the recording. Eatmon is seen handing Harper a piece of paper. which Harper then ignites and deposits inside the vacant home. The footage further shows the pair partially entering the building as the flames began to take hold. Eatmon eventually leaves the scene, and Harper disappears from the camera’s view shortly thereafter.
The damage reached far beyond the empty home. The adjacent Canaan United Methodist Church suffered over $10. 000 in estimated damages. a toll that highlights the proximity and intensity of the incident. With the investigation now moving into the judicial phase. both individuals remain held as the legal process begins following the events on Maryland Avenue.
