Spotify Expands Music Quiz to Thousands of Artists Today

Spotify Music – Spotify is rolling out its interactive Music Quiz feature to Premium subscribers in 11 countries, expanding the game beyond a single-artist collaboration to cover over 2,000 acts.
The days of proving your fandom through casual conversation are moving into the app itself. Starting today, the Spotify Music Quiz—a feature that began as a niche experiment—is officially growing into a platform-wide fixture for music discovery and trivia.
Back in March, the feature made its debut as a limited collaboration with the K-Pop group BTS. It was a singular, focused experience designed to test knowledge of one artist’s history. Now, the scope has shifted dramatically. The streaming service is expanding the tool to include more than 2. 000 artists. turning a specialized experiment into a sprawling game embedded directly into the listening experience.
Accessing the challenge is straightforward: while a song is playing. listeners can scroll down in the Now Playing view to find a dedicated card. From there, the app generates a series of questions that scale in complexity, moving through Easy, Medium, and Hard tiers. Once a listener finishes the rounds. the app displays a final score and provides an option to challenge friends to see who holds deeper knowledge of a particular artist.
The update is rolling out now to Premium subscribers aged 18 and older, but availability depends on geography. The rollout currently covers 11 countries: the United States. United Kingdom. Australia. Canada. India. Indonesia. Ireland. New Zealand. Nigeria. Singapore. and South Africa. Because the deployment is happening gradually, some users may not see the option immediately even within those regions.
While the current catalog of over 2. 000 artists covers a significant portion of the platform’s major names. the feature remains a work in progress. For now. some songs may only support quizzes in English. though there are plans to integrate more languages and artists as the feature matures. It is a calculated move to turn passive listening into a competitive activity. allowing users to measure their trivia knowledge against their peers while they listen.
