Four years after her debut album, Nymph, established her as a force in modern electronic music, Shygirl is preparing to move into a new chapter. The London-based artist has announced her sophomore LP, SWALLOW!, which is scheduled for release on November 6 via Because Music.
This project arrives after a period of steady output for the artist. Following the 2022 release of her debut. she kept momentum with two EPs—2024’s Club Shy and 2025’s Club Shy Room 2—while also reaching new audiences as a support act for Charli XCX on the Sweat tour. Now, she is positioning SWALLOW!. as a deliberate reintroduction.
Work on the album began in late 2023, during what the artist describes as a significant coming-of-age period. The production process took a collaborative. unhurried approach: Karma Kid pushed the tracks toward a maximalist sound. while Casey MQ focused on refining the project’s more delicate moments. For Shygirl, the experience was about reconciling her electronic roots with a desire to evolve.
Beyond the studio, the music was shaped by major life milestones, including turning 30 and falling in love. Rather than revisiting the restlessness of her earlier work. she approached these tracks as a way to honor her own growth.
