Shortly after 2 p.m., emergency responders arrived at the scene near Exit 34 on I-93 North in Wilmington. They discovered a man in the roadway who had been struck by a vehicle. Despite the arrival of authorities, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the site of the crash.
The vehicle involved did not stop, and the driver remains unidentified. Investigators from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office have described the truck as black and red, featuring a dump-truck body.
