Pixel Connected – Google has upgraded its Pixel Camera Services to support 11 additional communication apps, allowing users to leverage multi-camera setups for professional-grade mobile video feeds.
The small lens on the back of your smartphone is becoming far more versatile. Google is rolling out an update to its Pixel Camera Services app that brings Connected Camera support to 11 new communication and productivity platforms. effectively turning the average user’s handset into a mobile broadcast station.
For those who depend on video calls to get work done, this update shifts the landscape. Support now extends to Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Slack, among others. By integrating these services. the total number of officially compatible applications has jumped from five to 16. offering a wider range of ways to manage high-quality video feeds on the go.
The mechanics of the feature rely on flexibility. Connected Camera allows a Pixel device to act as the primary interface while pulling feeds from external sources—such as a second linked Pixel phone or a GoPro camera. Because the system retains the native filters and effects of the host app. users can switch between Camera 1 and Camera 2 without breaking the flow of a meeting or a broadcast. It functions as a mini TV studio that fits in a pocket. removing the need for complex external hardware when a professional aesthetic is required.
The update is currently deploying via the Play Store. marking a deliberate move by Google to normalize pro-level video tools for everyday tasks. What was once a niche feature for streamers is now a standard utility for anyone running a conference call. fundamentally changing how mobile devices handle multi-camera setups during high-stakes digital communication.
