Standing at 5-foot-11 and 196 pounds, Stastney brings four seasons of professional experience to the Penguins. His NHL career currently spans 117 regular-season games, during which he has recorded four goals and 15 assists for 19 total points. He also brings a small dose of postseason intensity. having appeared in three career Stanley Cup Playoff games with Nashville. where he maintained a plus-1 rating.

His journey to this point began as a fifth-round selection—131st overall—in the 2018 NHL Draft. Before reaching the pros. he spent four seasons at the University of Notre Dame between 2018 and 2022. earning the role of alternate captain during his final collegiate year. His development included time with the U.S. National Team Development Program from 2016-18 and international experience at the 2020 World Junior Championship and the 2018 World Under-18 Championship. where he captured a silver medal.
